After spending the winter in the cold of the north, I was very happy to return to my southern roots. I arrived back down south in May and was greeted by the warmth and sunshine that I had been missing for many months.
After cleaning up my backyard, I decided it was time to find a good way to enjoy the great outdoors. I went to my local home improvement store to check out various styles of hammocks that they had. I was amazed at the myriad of choices that were in front of me.
They had self supporting hammocks, crocheted hammocks, hammocks made with nylon, even tent hammocks that had a tarp that could be suspended over it. With so many choices, I knew I would have a difficult time.
I did have two trees in my backyard that were far enough apart to hang a hammock between, but they were in the corner of my yard. Those trees also provided plenty of shade so I wasn’t too worried about needing a tent hammock.
So my decision on the type of hammock was down to a self supporting hammock or one that was hung between the trees. As I was sitting outside contemplating and I knew what my decision would be. I would get a hammock that would stretch between the trees and could be placed in the far corner of my backyard away from everyone.
Then all I had to decide what style of hammock to get. Of course there were many choices at my disposal, but I was able to pick a crocheted hammock with a spreader bar at the head and foot of it. The hammock provided easy access for casual lounging.
The last thing I needed was an ice cold drink and my afternoons of peace and solace in the backyard days of summer had begun.
