Did you know that you can find cast iron umbrella stands in colors other than black? Black tends to be the preferred option as it tones in with most types of garden furnishings. It is also easy to keep clean and can look fantastic. But some people find it boring and so would prefer other colors.
If you want a white stand you can easily paint any cast iron umbrella stands with a suitable metal paint. White always looks great either indoors or outside as long as it is kept in pristine condition. The smallest amount of dirt can make white umbrella stands look old and neglected. If this is your preferred color option you need to clean the stand on a regular basis. You can do this with warm water but keep an eye out for rust. Try to clean the stand on a warm day so that the water doesn’t linger on the cast iron surface.
If you want something different why not try a green stand? You can find them in the shades that will match your grass making the stand blend into the surroundings. The only problem with this is the fact that people can stumble over the stand as it is not as obvious as a white or black unit would be.
Regardless of which color you choose if you look after your iron umbrella stand it will last for years. The reason this material is used so extensively in railings and other outdoor fencing is the fact that it is so easy to care for. So long as it has been protected it is rust resistant, cheap to manufacture and easy to manipulate into all sorts of carvings and designs. This explains why there are so many different styles of cast iron umbrella stands on the market today.
